Chalet Nordchamp is an owner-run chalet, so we really care about making a great holiday for our guests. We love Samoëns so much, we quit our jobs in London & moved out here full time in 2015. The chalet is in the hamlet of L'Etelley, just between Morillon and Samoëns, in the heart of the Grand Massif ski area. There's 265km of awesome skiing - both in the villages and up in the Flaine bowl. There's local ski schools & ski hire at both Samoens & Morillon - and we can help with getting both fixed up for you. Its a two minute drive to the Morillon ski lift, or three minutes up to Vercland (which takes you to Samoens 1600), or five minutes into Samoens to pick up the Grand Massif Express lift. We recommend using Vercland as its the fastest lift and there's never a queue.
On the ground floor, there’s a large open plan living space where four sets of sliding doors flood the space with natural light. One section of the room is given over to two mid-century modern styled oak dining tables, seating up to 14 people. The copper-coloured inners of the lampshades give a warm atmospheric glow at dinner. The contemporary styled wood-burning stove is the centre-piece of the spacious lounge area. There's two big sofas and two 1950s classic fireside chairs giving plenty of space for lounging (snoozing) with a book, or chatting with friends.
There's one ensuite bedroom on the ground floor, and upstairs there are four enormous ensuite bedrooms. Ceilings reach right up into the apex of the chalet roof, and have distinctive long dangling lampshades to make the most of the space. Each room has access onto a balcony, with a beautiful view of either the mountains or the forest. All the en-suites have big showers with a fixed head as well as a moveable shower head, wall-mounted WC, wash-hand basin, and a heated towel-rail.
Down in the basement you'll find the gym: table tennis, running machine, concept 2 rower, bike, free weights and a multi-gym weights set. Or take it at a more leisurely pace and relax in the sauna.
