Verbier Ski Resort
Verbier is located in the south west corner of the Valais canton. The location is quite close to both France and Italy. The ski resort is part of the larger 4 Valleys ski area which stretches for some 410km and incudes the ski resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz, Veysonnaz, and Thyon. Located at 1500m altitude in the Swiss Alps the resort has breath taking views of the Mont Blanc and the Combin Massif. Verbier if considered by many to be one of the top ski resorts in the world.
If you are looking for guaranteed high altitude snow with plenty of extreme off piste then you need to rent a Verbier chalet. There are slopes to suit all abilities but it is for the off piste skiing that Verbier has the best reputation. The Verbier powder fields are renowned around the world and heli-skiing is also hugely popular here.
Those looking for something a little different should check out Esserts Fun Park which has snow tubing, snow cross and snow carting. At La Chaux and La Tournelle there are snow parks if you fancy a little free styling. Snow shoeing, cross country skiing and telemark are also available and for those serious ski tourer’s, Verbier is the starting point of the “Haute Route” to Zermatt, Chamonix and Saas Fee.
