About Samoens

Samoens in winter
The only French ski resort to be listed as an ancient monument, Samoens is an enchanting resort unspoilt by commercial pressures. There’s skiing for all tastes, from powder and off piste, seriously steep blacks and moguls, wide open pistes and leisurely green runs through the trees, all crowned by stunning views of Mont Blanc.

The Grand Massif has one of the most reliable snow records, with runs up to fourteen kilometres long, 285 kms of tended trails and slopes, limitless off-piste terrain, and lifts of every shape, size and description.

There are also many other winter activities to keep you occupied; from snowshoeing to igloo building, dog sled rides to skidoos, or simply toboganning and building snowmen in the chalet garden. We are on hand to assist you in booking or organising any of these activities during your stay.

Away from the slopes the village of Samoens has a medieval square, gothic church, timber-fronted patisseries and picture-box houses, it offers a good selection of shops, café bars, restaurants and other facilities to ensure your stay isn’t just about the time you spend on the slopes but about enjoying the time off them too.

Fantastic chalet

There were 12 of us in this beautiful chalet, ranging in age from 6 to 50s and we all loved it. The decor and design of the house was perfect and how wonderful to have an ensuite for each bedroom. We never felt like we were on top of each other and all needs are covered: excellent kitchen with great facilities and open plan living space, wonderful lounge area and good sized dining room. Great to have a separate area to dry off skiing gear and store boots. The drive up is very easy and the roads well looked after and gritted when necessary. Tony bent over backwards to look after us without being intrusive at all. The area of Morillon and Samoens have some wonderful pistes for all levels from beginners to those who like a challenge. Nearby restaurants in both towns were lovely and Samoens particularly is very pretty. I wouldn't hesitate to return year after year. What a wonderful week we all had. Thanks so much Tony!!
