From Wald im Pinzgau, you can take a challenging hike (about an hour) to the Krimmler waterfalls, or hop in the car and, after a fifteen-minute drive, find yourself gaping at Europe's largest (tiered) waterfall. Take the ski gondola in the nearby village of Neukirchen am Großvenediger, ascend, wander around the mountain peaks, and enjoy the breathtaking view. Another great tip: Rent a bike or mountain bike and explore the surroundings that way!
