About Chamonix
Laid-back Argentière is a gateway to the Grands Montets area, accessed via the Plan Joran cable car and offering skiing and snowboarding, plus panoramic glacier views. In summer, trails attract hikers and mountain bikers. Built in 1726, the village church has a gilded altarpiece and a baroque bell tower. Ski rental shops and souvenir stores line Rue Charlet Straton, along with crêperies and pizza places.
The public transport on offer can take you to the other ski areas of the valley. Le Tour & Flegere only 5 minutes
