Les Gets is regularly listed as one of the most beautiful ski resorts in the Alps. The alpine village comprises Savoyard style ski chalets and comparing it to other French ski resorts it is without doubt on of the prettiest ski resorts in France.
Being linked to the huge Portes du Soleil ski area makes it a top choice for any ski holiday in the Alps. The ski resort has a charming main street lined with lots of shops, bars and restaurants and the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming.
The Portes du Soleil ski area is one of the biggest in the world, with over 650km of pistes runs and plenty of off piste bowl areas. The resort of Les Gets itself has plenty of ski runs that are perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers and the ski resort of Morzine is also included in the local lift pass. The Portes du Soleil life pass allows skiers to venture into more valleys and pistes.
For beginners you recommend you take the Chavannes Express to the selection of greens at the top of the resort. There are a number of easy blues back into the village and the blues runs from La Rosta and Pointe de laTurche offer gentle skiing and sunshine.
The long blues in the Chavannes area are ideal for intermediate skiers looking for some easy runs. If you have conquered that area then Mont Chery with its selection of red and black runs offers a step up.
For expert skiers and snow boarders there is excellent tree skiing and off piste around Mont-Chery and Nyon. Other areas to check out for powder are the bowl under the Chavannes gondola and the area around Combe d’Angolon. If you like to get lots of kilometers under your belt everyday then there are several routes through the Portes du Soleil area including a drop into Switzerland
