La Ferme de Florent is a beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse. When restoring it we retained as many of the original features as possible, such as the huge beams and fire place in the lounge, whilst adding rooms, bathrooms and heating. We also have a sauna, games room with pool table, TV room with wii etc and wifi. We love the result and hope you will too. The chalet is ocated righ ton the piste making this a real ski-in ski-out chalet. In 2016 we have re-furbished the Chalet ready for our move from self catered to catered and we think the new furniture and fittings look great.
The Farmhouse is on piste so it is ideal for skiers and boarders, there are also lots of beautiful walks, charming restaurants and cross country ski slopes nearby for non skiers. In summer the Col de La Colombier is a famous cycle route, we often see La Tour de France go by. The Aravis are also popular for paraponting, mountain biking and walking. There is a great skating rink, large outdoor pool complex, crazy golf, tree walk/ climbing routes and many more activities in Grand Bornand, just down the road. Chinaillon itself is a lovely village with plenty of shops, bars restaurants and spa's to keep anyone happy, summer and winter.
The chalet is on 3 floors. The middle floor has 6 bedrooms, designed to provide maximum comfort, with an en suite bath or shower room, and a flat screen television in every room. The top floor of the chalet has the TV room, sauna and kitchen, the rest is left open plan (44ft x 30ft) with a dining area and several comfortable seating areas with lots of comfy sofas and a huge, central open fire. This means that you get the beauty of a traditional farm house and plenty of warmth and comfort after a day of fresh air and exercise. There are several large balconies for those sunny days and plenty of outdoor furniture, barbeque etc to enable you to enjoy the sun.
Chinaillon is where you access the Grand Bornand ski area and has is 90km of skiing ranging from cruising greens to one of the steepest blacks in Europe. Most of the pistes are very wide and there is plenty of off piste. Included in the Aravis ski pass are La Clusaz ski area with 120km of piste within easy reach should you want more variety.
The ground floor of the chalet houses the ski/ board and boot room as well as a games room with pool table and dart board. Photo's of plans for each floor are attached..
