About Tignes Les Brevieres

Tignes Les Brevieres combines the charm of a traditional alpine village, with the convenience of fast lift access directly into the Espace Killy. The village offers all the amenities you need on a winter sports holiday, with a choice of restaurants and bars, equipment rental shops, a supermarket, newsagent/tobacconist, post office and its own ski school.

We love the summer months here as much as, or even more than, the winter ones! The weather is usually glorious – warm days of 20-30C and cooler nights of 15-20C, and it’s a dry heat so there’s none of the uncomfortable stickiness that you often get in warm climates. There’s so much to do that there really is something for everyone.

Activities near Tignes Les Brevieres

The skiable area of the Espace Killy comprises 300 Kilometres of ski runs located at altitudes ranging between 1,550 metres and 3,450 metres, at varying levels of difficulty: 22 green runs, 68 blue runs, 39 red runs, 26 black runs.

In addition to these runs, there are: 9 slalom courses, 1 mogul field, 2 snowparks and 1 gliss’park.

There is also extensive backcountry skiing to be explored in the area.

Tignes Les Brévières is located in the North-East part of the Espace Killy. Sunny from the early morning, you benefit from the views of the Grande Sassière (3748m), the Chevril lake and the Mont Blanc peak. Its highest peak is the Aiguille Percée (2748m), a huge rock with a hole in it through which you can ski (conditions permitting).

The village has its own ESF ski school and nursery slope, with a free lift for beginners. Intermediates will enjoy the long sweeping red and blue runs that return to the village, whilst the more advanced will be challenged by the infamous black Sache piste and off-piste terrain.

In summer, you can choose to mountain bike, road cycle, hike, climb, play golf or tennis, swim, watch the Tour de France, indulge at the local wine fairs, or simply relax and soak up the sun. There is an extensive activities programme for all the family at Tignes throughout the summer, with many free activities using the My Tignes Open card.

Just fine

The chalet is okay but we had some issues.

I’ll start with the negative: the kitchen was fairly small for a non-catered place so cooking for large numbers proved to be a challenge. The place was also not cleaned to high standards, as we found grease, breadcrumbs, or spider webs. Nothing horrible, just not up to the standard we expected compared to previous experiences renting ski chalets in France.
Another annoying point was the jacuzzi. There was deficient water management upon pH check with low chlorine and some stench. The access was all blocked by snow (which was certainly not from the week prior to our arrival), that we had to clean up ourselves for some time.

On the bright side, rooms were good, there was parking and secure ski lockers a couple minutes from the chalet, and a gondola a further couple of minutes walk that takes you straight to the resort first lift.

Nice week

Spacious chalet. A top of the village, but there is a free transport service going to the middle of the hill during daytime. Jacuzzi seems be emptied between each rent period. Kitchen lacks basic utensils, such as oven pans, measuring cups, rolling pin. Had a medical urgency the last day, and the staff was flexible upon checkout to accommodate for this.
