Activities near Le Grand Bornand

Le Grand Bornand is a traditional and unspoilt French mountain village. The skiing is varied and great for beginners, with long wide winding blues and reds crisscrossing the mountain. For the more experienced, there are some exceptional powder bowls to play in and the resort also plays host to the infamous Noire du Lachat - once the steepest black run in Europe and one not to be taken lightly. Neighbouring resort La Clusaz is a larger and more built up resort that offers even more skiing and a range of bars and restaurants.

The area is almost as active in the summer. Some of the best paragliding in the world can be found in the Aravis area, with Le Grand Bornand itself having played host to the world championships and the area is a regular host of the Tour de France, which runs through the village most years and occasionally hosts the finale. Cycling buffs will be aware of the famous Col de La Colombiere, the base of which lies more or less where the chalet sits.

The beautiful lake and old town of Annecy is also just a short 20-30minute drive away.
