Set in its own secluded orchards, with breath-taking views from full height windows across 13 pretty villages and settlements stretching towards the Vanoise National Park and the magnificent Grand Bec mountain rising 3400 metres to the east and with the silence broken only by bird song, it's not surprising that some guests in Iona put skiing in second place within days of arriving, just to enjoy the peace and comfort of the chalet.
The property comprises 3 buildings; the main chalet, completely rebuilt 2017, sleeps 12 in its two master bedrooms and 4 twin or double guest rooms. The entrance opens into a large, high ceilinged living area with a stunning, modern open plan kitchen, inviting seating areas around the dramatic, suspended fireplace and a huge, hand-made oak dining table close to the large east-facing panoramic windows.
Stairs lead down to an elegant sitting room with wood burning stove, cinema area, reading corners with board games, this area opens onto the large jacuzzi terrace, the first master bedroom is also on this floor.
On the lowest level are the remaining 5 bedrooms, each with its own style, be it art deco or Biedermeier furniture, or reflecting the seasons or the passions of the owner's family and each with its own bath or shower room.
Next door and with the same lovely views is the picture-postcard Chalet India, perfect for a couple or 3 intimate friends.
Chalet William, just across the road from Chalets Iona and India, is also available for larger groups and can sleep up to 4 adult guests.
