This is ideal for two to three families who want to holiday together in contemporary alpine comfort, Le Grand Galbert combines privacy with fantastic living spaces to be together. With stunning south-facing views of the mountain and valley and situated only three minutes walk from the lift station, you could not get a better location.
The chalet is split over three floors and also in three sections. All our double rooms have super king size beds, lots of which can be split into twins. On the top floor of section 1 of the chalet sits the master bedroom with a south-facing balcony and en-suite bathroom, a large double bedroom with a south-facing balcony, a children's bunk room that can sleep up to 3 children with a small north balcony and a shared bathroom.
The extensive middle floor is exclusively devoted to maximizing the views from the beautifully appointed sitting room/dining room/kitchen. Open plan, and stretching over the entire building, this stunning room has four south-facing French doors leading onto its own private, south-facing balcony. On the north face there is a main entrance door, from the courtyard, with access into the kitchen area. The seating area has an extensive corner sofa, two arm chairs and a contemporary wood-burner. The long dining table seats 10-12 in comfort and the kitchen is designed for ease of use. We have seated 15/16 in a bit of a squeeze in one sitting using the small table from next door but you would struggle to seat more that this. However with small children meals are often more easily done in two sittings feeding the youngest first.
The bottom floor has two double bedrooms (which can be made up as super king size beds or split into twin beds), a well-appointed shared bathroom, hallway with ski boot heaters and utility facilities of a washing machine and tumble dryer. Immediately and conveniently outside the door is the ski locker.
Leading off to the left of the sitting room is a door that takes you to a little separate suite, fondly known as La Petite Cabane, which has its own kitchen and sitting room with a terrace, lovely south facing bedroom and a bathroom - this is ideal for the Grandparents who sometimes need a bit of P&Q from the main hum drum, someone who needs to work or revise. It also has its own front door (that we tend not to use when we're all together)
From this suite you an further access three more bedrooms and another lovely light roomy seating area and kitchen which is set up for six with stunning views and south facing balconies. This is equipped with a second washing machine/tumble drier. Two of the bedrooms are stunning kind size double beds which can be split into twins and a smaller bedroom that is best made up as a twin but can be pushed together to create a third Super King.
Infront of the groundfloor immediately outside the chalet there are a couple of parking spaces as well as a drop off area by the front door. Fortunately Vaujany has plenty of free parking close by for extra cars (much of it underground) and we can direct you it on arrival.
