Set in a quiet area right next to the centre of Chamonix, the Residence Francotel is in easy walking distance of lots of bars, restaurants and one of the main bus stations to the ski slopes. Ideal for a family, our 70 sq m apartment has a comfortably large living and dining room with a separate kitchen, and two bedrooms: one with a double bed, and one with bunk beds. The balcony outside looks straight onto Mont Blanc and the Glacier des Bossons for wonderful sunrises and sunsets, and you can spot the old and new Aiguille de Midi cable car stations, as well as the entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel.

Our apartment has a spacious living room with a DVD home cinema system, PS2, a TV (with spare HDMI inputs), and the obligatory moulded relief map of the Mont Blanc massif on the wall. The recently renovated kitchen is separate with a hob, microwave and fridge freezer, plus raclette and fondue equipment, and there's a washing machine in the utility/storage room. Wi-fi is available through a WPS enabled Orange box.

The standard occupancy is four, but there are two camp beds that can be used in the second bedroom or the living room, plus the sofa can be made into two single beds, giving a total of 8. We wouldn't recommend squeezing that many in for long though - this isn't a typical sardine studio apartment.
