Chalet Châtelet is a traditional whole log eco-chalet built with quality natural materials and no compromise on luxury. Solar energy enhances the cosy atmosphere created by the fabulous wood burners. Our collection of art along with an eclectic blend of antique and modern furniture, fine linens and comfy beds all contribute to giving you the feeling of home away from home.
We offer sole use of the chalet with four bedrooms with four bathrooms, two en suite, plus a single annex with shower. On the first floor a special Tulikivi log stove heats the spacious sitting room, hosting a huge comfy corner sofa and ideal après-ski relaxation en famille. There is an LED home cinema with flat screen TV, Sky+HD, iPod docking and free WiFi throughout the chalet. We have a reputation for delicious home made cuisine using the best local and fresh organic ingredients and our carefully selected wines, including organic and biodynamic, come directly from the producers and compliment the local delicacies and regional cheeses.
Fresh flowers, daily snow forecast and help arranging ski passes, equipment hire, organising activities and babysitting are all part of the service.You have access to a two person infrared sauna with adjacent power shower and a secluded outdoor hot tub. The chalet is in an acre of garden with parking for several vehicles, back off a quiet road surrounded by sledging slopes.
The tranquil village of Bonnevaux, probably the prettiest in the Vallée d’Abondance, is so close to the connection to the vast Portes du Soleil with 650 km slopes on the border of Switzerland that all lifts are 5 - 30 minutes from the chalet. Bonnevaux sits in the middle of it all, discretely off the beaten track for those who need a secluded venue to relax and enjoy with family and friends. Our chauffeured 4x4 Mercedes Viano or ski bus from the village centre takes you up the valley to the best ski areas around Chatel; the stunning views above Linga and the Swiss area of Grand Paradis.
In the resort of Abondance, just 3 miles away, you will find uncrowded slopes and fresh powder with pistes of all levels. Our local resort, as well as downhill skiing for all abilities, specialises in ice driving, husky sledding, ski-joering with ponies, cross-country skiing and snowshoe trekking in complete tranquility.
