La Plagne Ski Holidays
La Plagne is part of the Paradiski ski area, one of the biggest ski regions in Europe. Located in the Tarentaise, La Plagne is infact a combination of 10 ski villages ranging in altitude from 1250m up to 2100m. Each of the villages offers its own traditions and atmosphere ranging from the classic alpine village of La Plagne 1800 to the newly designed and modern Aime La Plagne
With high altitude villages the area offers guaranteed snow conditions and over 420km of ski pistes to entertain skiers and snow boarders of all levels. La Plagne is very suitable for a family ski holiday in the Alps and children are well looking after with crèches and ski kindergardens in most villages.
Six of the La Plagne ski villages are located at high altitude above 1800m. These are Plagne 1800, Plagne Centre (1970m), Plagne Soleil (2050m), Aime la Plagne (2100m), Plagne Bellecôte (1930m), Belle-Plagne (2050m). For snow sure skiing these are the best location for your ski holiday. Further down the valley you have Champagny en Vanoise (1250m), Plagne-Montalbert (1350m), Montchavin (1250m) and Les Coches (1450m). All of the villages are well linked with many having ski-in ski-out accommodation and a regular free ski bus also links all areas.
As well as the La Plagne ski villages the area is linked by worlds biggest cable car, the high speed Vanoise Express, to Les Arcs creating the huge Paradiski area. With such a vast ski area there are all levels of skiing in La Plagne.
The ski area is well setup of beginners and families with plenty of nursery slopes in each villages and easy runs between the ski villages themselves. For intermediates there are lots of blue and red runs and a huge selection of wide motorway pistes to practice your carving skills. For advanced skiers one of the some of the most popular pistes are on the Plagne Bellecôte glacier with plenty of off piste available and challenging tree runs from Aime La Plagne down towards Plagne 1800. The connections into Les Arcs also offer lots of variety for experienced skiers on holidat in La Plagne.
