Austrian Ski Chalet Quirks
When browsing the chalets that Austria has to offer, you may spot some things that seem unusual. Firstly, a lot of chalets are actually former guesthouses, meaning that the bedrooms are generally larger and have en-suite bathrooms. While this sounds like a bonus, it does mean that they sometimes don’t have living rooms, instead only featuring a dining room.
You may also spot that the beds are slightly different, in that it may be a room for two people, but it’s a single mattress.
This is not uncommon in Europe, but in this instance is sometimes referred to as continental style, or ‘Austrian twins’. People share a large bed with two single duvets, which may be fine for couples or family members, but might not suit some groups. Keep this in mind when deciding on your ski holiday accommodation in Austria.
